Why we started Little Dream Bug

A few years ago, our child became poorly and we ended up with a five-day stay in hospital. It was one of the most frightening experiences of our lives as a family.

But the quality of care we received from Kings Mill Hospital was outstanding. The nurses, the play team, everyone went above and beyond to look after our little one and us.

We decided to pay that kindness forward. As a team, we fundraise to purchase pyjamas and underwear, which we donate directly to the children's ward, Ward 25, at Kings Mill Hospital — so no family arrives unprepared and no child goes without something comforting and new.

Having new pyjamas and underwear for our patients might seem a little thing, but to us and them it means the world. To come to the ward with nothing packed, and be able to offer new underwear and nightwear, means so much. They are so grateful and appreciative — and when we say they can take them home, they're even more excited. Thank you to Elizabeth for arranging all the fundraising events, and to everyone who attends, donates, and allows Ward 25 to offer our patients such a selection.
